Duke Energy has partnered with Bright Star Touring Theatre to provide The Energy Efficiency in Schools program to interested schools in NC, SC and IN. The program offers FREE theatrical performances designed specifically for both elementary and middle schools.
These entertaining and interactive productions offers introduction to the world of energy efficiency and are designed to educate students and families on cost-saving energy practices while introducing them to valuable energy efficiency kits that are free to eligible Duke Energy customers.
This school year, the program offers 3 performances, each tailored to resonate with various grade levels:
Elementary Schools:
“Pinocchio & Jiminy Current”
Description:
This 25-minute show is a celebration of energy efficiency through the story of Pinocchio. Featuring all your favorite characters this high-energy and hilarious show is perfect for your youngest grades.
25 Minute Show intended for Grades Pre-K-2
“Jurassic Spark”
Description:
Things are not at all well at Jurassic Spark–where energy consumption is through the roof! In this 25-minute production your students will learn all sorts of energy-saving tips they can use in their own homes (& paddocks).
25 Minute Show intended for Grades 3-5
Middle Schools:
“Grid Games”
Description:
Student volunteers can win real prizes in this fast-paced energy game show. STEM-based questions provide the outline for this 40-minute game show that can play in any space.
40 Minute Show intended for Grades 6-8
