Program Rewards

By hosting an Energy Efficiency performance, participating schools have the ability to earn a variety of rewards* based on the amount of eligible kit requests a school can generate amongst households of children that attend the school and viewed a performance. In addition, teachers and school staff eligible kit requests can also count towards school rewards.

Rewards for the 2024-2025 school year include:

• School Wide Reward**:
  • If 75% of a school's student enrollment request a kit and each is deemed an eligible kit request by 5/31/25, the school received a Free Bright Star Performance ($1,095 value).
• Teacher Reward:
  • For every 15 kit requests submitted by 5/31/2025 that are attributed to a teacher’s classroom, the teacher can earn the choice of $75 in school supplies or $50 cash reward.
• Household Reward:
  • One eligible kit request made through 5/31/25 will be randomly selected for a $500 cash reward.
• Grand Prize:
  • Schools with the top 5 eligible kit requests through 5/31/25 will earn the following cash rewards:
    • 1st Place: $7,500
    • 2nd Place: $2,000
    • 3rd Place: $1,500
    • 4th Place: $1,000
    • 5th Place: $500

**To participate in School-Wide Reward, school must host their show to the entire school enrollment.

Teachers and school staff communication to parents are critical in a school’s effort to achieve these rewards. Here are some ideas of messages you can send to guardians to ensure they take advantage of his offer and help your school community win prizes:

• “Thanks to Duke Energy, you have the ability to request a FREE energy savings kit for your household! These kits can help you save energy! Visit www.duke-energy.com/energyshow to check your eligibility and request your kit today! In addition, by requesting a kit, you can help our school and classroom win cash rewards or another free theatrical performance!”

• “Hi, Parents! 
  This week, our students attended a performance courtesy of Duke Energy that was focused on energy efficiency and conserving resources. If you are a Duke Energy customer, you may be eligible for a free energy efficiency kit that is designed to help you save energy in your home.
  In order to participate, all you have the do is visit www.duke-energy.com/energyshow which will prompt you to request a FREE energy savings kit for your household. You can also call 877.334.1724 if you prefer to request a kit over the phone. In addition, with the school community’s help, our school and classroom may be eligible for cash rewards based on the amount of kit requests that we can encourage.”

• “Exciting News! 
  Dear Parents & Guardians,
  This week, your students had the opportunity to watch a fun program on energy efficiency courtesy of Duke Energy. You can help our classroom and school earn cash rewards by visiting www.duke-energy.com/energyshow or calling 877.334.1724 and requesting a FREE energy efficiency kit.”
